Selecting Fields for Integrative Studies

You could also use an Undergraduate Academic Certificate as a field of study. There are many academic certificates available.

Strategic Corporate Communication Focus:

Integrative Studies can be tailored as a focus in Strategic Corportate Communication as of Fall 2016. The New College at Frisco offers these courses also. For academic plans and more information related to this focus visit

Aerospace Studies, Anthropology, Arabic, Chinese, Communication Studies, Dance, Economics, English, French, Geography/Geology, German, History, International Studies, Italian, Japanese, Journalism, Latin, Military Science, Philosophy, Political Science, Psychology, Russian, Sociology, Spanish, Technical Communication, Theatre and Women's & Gender Studies.

G.Brint Ryan College of Business

Departments within the College of Business are combined to complete only one 12 hour field.

Divisions in the College of Business Administration: Accounting, Aviation Logistics, Business Computer Information Systems, Business Law, Decision Sciences, Finance, Insurance, Logistics & Chain Supply Mgmt, Management, Marketing, Real Estate and Risk Mgmt & Insurance.

College of Education Fields

Note: Some departments within the College of Education require admission to the College.

Counseling, Human Development & Family Studies and Special Education; Kinesiology, Health Promotion, Recreation and Sports Management; Bilingual and English as a Second Language, Educational Curriculum and Instruction, Early Childhood, Elementary Education, Higher Education, Middle School, Reading and Secondary Education.

College of Engineering Fields

Departments within Engineering are combined to complete only one 12 hour field.

Computer Science and Engineering, Construction Engineering Technology, Electrical Engineering, Electronical Engineering, Engineering Technology, Manufacturing Engineering Technology, Materials Science and Engineering, Mechanical and Energy Engineering, Mechanical Engineering Technology and Nuclear Engineering Technology.

College of Information Fields

Departments within Information are combined to complete only one 12 hour field.

Learning Technologies, Linguistics, and Information Sciences.

College of Merchandising, Hospitality and Tourism Fields

Departments within Merchandising, Hospitality and Tourism are combined to complete only one 12 hour field.

Divisions in the College of Merchandising, Hospitality and Tourism: Digital Retailing, Home Furnishings, Hospitality Management, Merchandising & Hospitality Management and Merchandising.

College of Music Fields

Note: Some Music courses require registration codes, auditions or have other restrictions.

Departments within Music are combined to complete only one 12 hour field.

Composition, Ethnomusicology, History & Literature, Jazz Studies, Performance, and Theory.

College of Health and Public Service Fields

Applied Gerontology, Audiology & Speech-Language, Behavioral Analysis, Criminal Justice, Emergency Administration & Planning, Public Administration, Public Health, Rehabilitation Studies and Social Work.

College of Science Fields

Biology, Biochemistry, Chemistry, Mathematics and Physics.

College of Visual Arts and Design Fields

Departments within Visual Arts are combined to complete only one 12 hour field.
